RPP-NEPAL PROTESTS REMOVAL OF KING TRIBHUVAN BUST

Kathmandu, 8 Jan. RPP-Nepal is holding a protest rally in the capital protesting a cabinet decision to remove a bust of King Tribhuvan from Sahid Gate.
The bust is being moved to museum at the former Narayanhiti Royal Palace.
The party that supports constitutional monarchy and a Hindu state charged the Baburam Bhattarai for downgrading and minimizing the
contribution of the former king, also the Father of the Nation , for ushering in democracy.
RPP Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana said in Makwanpur Sunday New Nepal can’t be ushered in by removing statues of late Kings Prihhvi Narayan Shah or Tribhuvan.

HEAVY SNOW IN BHAJANG

Kathmandu, 8 Jan.: People have been pinned to their houses in villages bordering Tibet since Sunday morning following heavy snowfall.
First reports 36 schools have been closed down in the northern region of the far-West district.

DANG DEATH TOLL INCREASES TO 11

Kathmandu, 8 Jn.: Following the death of Jai Mangal Gupta
while undergoing treatment in hospital, the death toll in Saturday’s collision between a jeep and truck in Dang increased to 11.
He dead are all jeep passengers.
Five persons were seriously injured.
Movement on vehicles in the district is being halted for two hours Sunday to mourn the deaths.
