Kathmandu, 16 Jan.: NC President Sushil Koirala and Maoist
Chairman Prachanda Monday held discussions ahead of Tuesday’s joint meeting of the main opposition central working committee
and parliamentary party.
Koirala and Prachanda discussed a national consensus government, among other issues one day after a Maoist central committee where a
Mohan Baidya faction demanded the recall of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to discuss a unity government for a constitution and peace.

HEAVY SNOWFALL REPORTED FROM RUKUM AS WELL
Kathmandu, 16 Jan.: Snowfall has again occurred in mountainous VDCs of
Rukum district on Sunday affecting normal life, RSS reports fro Rukum.
Locals said one foot deep snow was occurred in the VDCs last night even before the melting of snow that had occurred five days ago.
Normal life of the VDCs located in the northern part of the district has been badly affected due to the latest snowfall.
The snowfall has also forced most of the schools including Hadibang Secondary School, Putha Secondary School, Pelma Secondary School and Tatapani Secondary School to postpone the ongoing half-yearly examinations.
It is said that it will take one week to resume schools situated in the mountainous region.
Similarly, locals of different VDCs including Hukam, Taksera, Syalakhadi and Mahatal have been facing problems to carry out daily works due to snowfall.
Local Bishnu Budha said that snowfall was continuing in different VDCs including Sisne, Gotamkot, Ranmamaikot, Hukam, Taksera, Kankri and Mahatal, remote and mountainous VDCs in the district.
Though the rainfall occurred belatedly compared to previous years provided some relief in farming, snowfall has affected the wheat crop, said farmers.
