BIRD FLU SPREADS TO JHAPA

Kathmandu, 12 Feb.: Bird flu has spread from Sunsari to three places in Jhapa in the district adjoining the Indian state of West Bengal.
In Sunsari, the flu has spread to other farms after detection around three farms
around Itahari this month.
The cases are the first reported in 2012.
Flu was last detected in 2011 in Manahara in the capital.

ONE DEAD, FOUR INJURED IN CHTWAN ACCIDENT
Kathmandu, 12 Feb.: One person died and four others have been injured in a road accident at Barhaghare, Bharatpur Municipality-4 on Saturday night, RSS reports from Chitwan.

Nineteen years old Ramji Yadav who was critically injured after a bus ploughed into the house of one Dharmanath Manandhar succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. Yadav originally from Kukurbhikka-2, Bara District had been living in a rented flat at Manandhar´s house.

The bus was heading towards Mangalpur in west Chitwan from Narayangadh at the time of the accident. Police said the accident took place as the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Those sustaining injuries in the accident are 25-year-old Som Gurung of local Gunjanagar-4 and Hridaya Narayan Yadav living in rented room in Narayangadh, Chitwan, Rajan Yadav of Purniya, Braa District and 17-year-old Surendra Baitha.

They are undergoing treatment at the Chitwan Medical College Hospital. Among the injured, Gurung is said to be in critical
condition.

ANOTHER BANK REPORTS LOWER PROFIT MARGIN

Kathmandu, 12 Feb.: NMB Bank Ltd reported lower net profit of Rs.56.170 million in Q2 ending 14 January of the current fiscal year.
The bank’s profit fell from Rs120.108 million recorded in the same period last year.
