LAWMAKER SHYAM SUNDAR GUPTA CHARGED
• Kathmandu, 9 Feb.: Charges were filed Thursday by police at Kathmandu district court against lawmaker and NSP Devi chairman Shyam Sundar Gupta.
• He has been charged for abduction
• Prosecution has demanded a 17-year jail term along with a Rs.8.5 million fine.
• Gupta has been charged for planning and executing the abduction for ransom of businessman and industrialist Pawan Kumar Sanghai from Kamaladi in the capital
• The lawmaker was arrested 17 January.

UPDATE ON CONSTITUTIONAL COMMITTEE
MEET
Kathmandu, 9 Feb. : A constitutional committee headed by Nilambar Acharya
decided Thursday to adopt existing business procedures to resolve differences on themes to be incorporated in a constitution which has to be promulgated nu 28 May.
The committee has until Sunday to resolved persisting differences between parties.
Two deadlines have been missed and the third will also be missed Sunday
A final effort will be made by the Big Three at a
meeting Saturday, Maoist Chairman Prachanda said
Articles for incorporation in a basic law will be decided through voting if an agreement in elusive Saturday, Prachanda added.
