UPDATE ON BIRGUNJ PRISON SITUATON
Kathmandu, 24 Feb.: Police fired in the air and lobbed teargas shells at two groups clashed Friday in Birgunj prison
Prisoners dissatisfied with administrators and condition inside jail staged demonstrations shouted slogans and pelted stones .
There are an estimated 1,120 inmates in the jail
Parsa district claimed Friday afternoon situation was under control.

ANOTHER NEPALI CLAIMS HE’S WORLD’S SHORTEST MAN

Kathmandu, 24 Feb.: A team from Guinness Book of Records will take measurements Sunday in the capital to confirm or reject claims of Chandra Bahadur Dangi, 72,of a Dang village he’s world’s shortest man with only a height of 22 inches.
The British team is en route to Kathmandu from London
Dangi is trying to wrest the title from Junrey Balawing of Philippines who is 23.5 inches.
Balawing took the title from Khagendra Thapa Magar who was 26.4 inches when he held the record.
