LOAD-SHEDDING REDUCED FURTHER
Kathmandu, 25 Feb.: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reduced
load-shedding further from Monday with the onset of spring and rise in
the river level
Power outage will be brought down to 68 hours a week Monday from peak 14 hour dailyt load-shedding in winter.
Load-shedding was decreased by one hour last week only.
Nepal’s hydropower plants are operated by hydro power with production falling drastically four months from mid-November during the dry season.

CHINESE VISITOR RETURNS HOME
Kathmandu, 25 Feb.: Visiting Chinese Minister of State for Forestry Administration Jia Zhibang left here for China after completing four-day visit to Nepal, RSS reports.
A six-member Chinese delegation led by Jia had arrived on February 22 at the invitation of Minister for Forest and Soil-Conservation Mohammad Wakil Musalman to attend the first meeting of Nepal-China Joint Forestry Taskforce.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the control of wildlife smuggling, conservation of bio-diversity, forestry management and experiences from both the countries.
Secretary at the Ministry of Forest and Soil-Conservation Nabin Kumar Ghimire said the meeting discussed about climate change, wildfire control, smuggling of medicinal herbs and the ways to controlling criminal activities along the border lines, among others.
Secretary Ghimire saw off the Chinese delegation at the Tribhuvan International Airport today [Saturday].
