MAIN OPPOSITION NC’S SERIOUS OBJECTIONS TO
MINISTER AND GOVERNMENT REMARKS
Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: Main opposition NC parliamentary party (PP)
meeting Wednesday urged the ruling coalition-leader UCPN-Maoist to be responsible towards the conclusion of ongoing peace process and to implement the November 1 seven-point deal signed among the
major parties.

NC PP in a statement asked Maoists to first conclude the delayed peace process as per the 7-point agreement before constitution can be promulgated.
The p said it had ‘serious objections’ to remarks made of ministers against the national unity and sovereignty referring to statements by
Communication Minister and even Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, PP Spokesman Nabindra Raj Joshi said.
The meeting also opposed seizure of cheques by Maoist commanders issued by government to former PLA fighters returning home from seven cantonments this month.
The meeting endorsed the three bills including the Bill on Anti-Money Laundering tabled presented in parliament for endorsement by government.
But the main opposition party called for amendments in the anti-money
laundering bill for legislative approval.
The PP criticized the party leading the government for criticizing a legislation prepared and presented for legislative approval.

JUDICIAL REMAND OF DIG RANJAN KOIRALA
EXTENDED ONE MORE DAY

Kathmandu, 15 Feb. The judicial remand of DIG Ranjan Koirala was extended one more day by Kathmandu district court to enable police to prepare murder charges against the senior police officer.
Koirala is being charged for murder of his wife Gita Dhakal this
month.
The suspended police officer was presented at court Wednesday.

BIRD FLU CONTAINED IN EAST NEPAL

Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: Public health authorities believe an
putbreak of bird flu has been contained on the eastern districts of SUnsari, Ilam, Panchthar and Jhapa, Nepal Television said quoting officials.
Bird flu first broke in Nepal 2009 and has been reported every year since its first outbreak.
Altogether 9,000 birds were culled, 3,000 eggs destroyed and 401kg chicken feed were destroyed to fight the epidemic, officials said.
State television quoted an official as confirming the flu virus was found in a dead crow in the capital.
