RAJKISHORE YADAV APPOINTED ACTING CHAIRMAN OF MPRF-R
Kathmandu, 24 Feb : Vice-president Rajkishore Yadav of MPRF-R was Friday appointed acting chairman of the party in the absence of Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta who has jailed for corruption charge and jailed.
The party central committee which will meet Saturday as well decided fight Gupta’s conviction and sentence.
The party will continue in government.
Gupta continues as chairman, the committee decided.

SON-IN-LAW ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED MURDER
Kathmandu, 24 Feb.: Police have taken under control relatives of Sanjaya Bamjan, who have been absconding after murdering his mother-in-law at Maisthan-1 in Mahottari district, RSS reports from Bardibas.
According to the Area Police Office, Bardibas, police have arrested four relatives of Bamjan, a resident of Ranichuri of Sindhuli district. He has been absconding after murdering his mother-in-law Sukmaya Gole on Wednesday night.
Police-Inspector of the Office, Ramesh Basnet said the arrestees are Bamjan's sister Shova Bamjan, brother-in-law Kumar Singh of Maisthan-1, among others.
Bamjan had murdered Sukmaya by using sharp weapon as he was angry with the mother-in-law for not sending his wife to his house.
Father-in-law of Bamjan, Bahadur Gole, was also injured in the incident and he is undergoing treatment in Dharan.

$180M ABD ASSISTANCE FOR TIA IMPROVEMEN
Kathmandu, 24 Feb.: The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation has put forward various plans to bring about reforms in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), RSS reports.
The Ministry's plan came in the context when the airport is getting congested day by day.
The airport improvement works will take strides with the loan assistance of the Asian Development Bank.
Earlier, an agreement in connection with loan assistance worth Rs. 5.18 billion (180 million US$) was signed between the Nepal government and ADB for the first phase in March 2010.
Necessary reform and expansion of the airport is taking place with this loan assistance. The second phase works will be put forward after the first phase process moves ahead, said the Ministry.
The action plan for the reform of the airport includes construction of new taxi way, new apron and helipad, expansion of new terminal building, sterilizer zone and parking area.

US, NEPAL DISCUSS PEACE PROCESS
Kathmandu, 24 Feb.: Deputy Chief of Mission of U.S. Embassy in Nepal Patricia A. Mahoney held discussions with Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Satya Pahadi at Singha Durbar Friday
They discussed the peace process and the US official urged parties to speed it up.
Mahoney said that USA will provide further assistance to Nepal to support the peace process in future.
The Minister’s aide Sangita Khadka said U.S. role was positive in the peace process and hoped it will continue.
