SUPREME COURT ASKS GOVT.TO FURNISH REPLY IN 35 DAYS
Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: Supreme court Tuesday asked government to furnish
within 35 days a written clarification on its controversial decision to issue suspended naturalized citizenship in 20 terai districts.
Many CDOs have refused to implement a home ministry directive to implement what has been called an illegal decision.
Home ministry issued the circular 8 January with the approval and consent of Maoists heading the government.
Madeshbadi parties in the government have been pressing regional issues like mass integration of terai youth in Nepal Army and issuance of naturalizedcitizenship.
Maoists have support the Madesh demands to retain leadership of government even amidst opposition y a hand-line faction in UCPN (Maoist).
GLOBAL BANK LTD. PROFIT DECLINES IN Q2 OF CURRENT FISCAL YEAR
Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: The net profit of Global Bank Ltd. declined to Rs.104.952 million in Q2 of the current fiscal year ending 14 January.
The bank earned a Rs. 132.454 million net profit in the corresponding
period the previous year.
