ARJUN DHAKAL WINS MARATHON IN 6TH NATIONAL GAMES
Kathmandu, 2 March: Renowned athlete Arjun Dhakal of the Armed Police Force (APF) has won the gold medal in the marathon race held on Friday in the Sixth National Games. Dhakal bagged the medal by completing the distance (42 kilometers) in 2 hours 28 minutes, RSS reports from Dhanhadi..
Dhakal said that there was no improvement in timing for the lack of strong contenders. He, however said, "Running here is easier unlike in Kathmandu. There is no problem of traffic congestion here and the road is also smooth to run."
Narayan Deshar of the Nepal Police won silver medal while Khim Bahadur Khatri of the APF bagged the bronze medal in the marathon.
Similarly, Manmati Bista of the Nepal Police won 800 meters race under the women's category. Similarly, Manisha Adhikari of western region got silver medal and Laxmi Pandey won bronze medal in the 800 meters race under the women's category.
Likewise, Siddhanta Adhikari of Nepal Police won gold medal in men's 800 meters race and won a total of three gold medals individually.
