CA TO DISCUSS SRC SUGGESTIONS ON FEDERAL STRUCTURE SUNDAY

CONSTITUENT ASSEBLY(CA) MEETS SUNDAY

Kathmandu, 21March: Constituent assembly (CA)will meet Sunday
to discuss a report of the government-appointed state restructuring
commission with suggestions submitted nearly three months ago
for a federal structure to replace a unitary state,
Two separate suggestions have been recommended following
disagreement between parties on number of provinces in a federal
structure
Differences between parties on where to send the report delayed follow-up action on the commission suggestions.
Discussions on the report will begin the next day Monday and a
report and recomendations will be sent to a concerned assembly committee for further action, an announcement said.
Parties still differ on a federal structure with less than 70 days remaining to promulgate a constitution by 28 May.

MADESHBADI FRONT HOLD DISCUSSIONS

Kathmandu, 21 March: A front of Madeshbadi patires in government
held a meeting Wednesday and discussed preparations for a pubic
meeting in the capital 31 March to highlight demands for federation.
The front also discussed other issues including a 4-point agreement
with Maoists leading the government to implement the agreement amid charges they were being sidelined.

CHINESE COMPANY RESUMES WORK ON KULEKHANI III

Kathmandu, 21 March: A Chinese construction company resumed
work on the construction of Kulekhani III in Makwanpur Wednesday
after a resolution of a labour dispute at the hydro power plant.
Management agreed to worker demands for increased pay and perks.
Work was suspended for more than two months.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) award the contract o to the
Chinese company.
