CONSTITUTIONAL COUNCIL MEETS THRSDAYTO DISCUSS APPOINTMENTS TO FILL VACANCIES IN CONSTITUTIONAL BODIES
Kathmandu, 28 March: A meeting of the constitutional council chaired ex-officio by the prime minister will be held Thursday to appoint to fill vacancies in constitutional bodies.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai gave the assurance while responding to direct questions of listeners of Radio Nepal over the monthly Janata Sangha Prachan Mantri programme.
Applications have been asked from those for the first time to fill vacancies.
But appointments haven’t been executed by the Bhattarai government even in six months .
Continuous vacancies hampering work of constitutional bodies were taken up by a parliamentary committee where the premier assured positions will be filled in two weeks.

“Maoists demanding top ranks to PLA fighters in the to-be-constituted directorate under the national army indicates the conspiracist attitude of the UCPN-Maoist,” said Gyanwali at an interaction programme organised by the Reporter’s Club in Tulsipur of Dang on Wednesday.
The UML leader also warned against bringing any kind of politics into the institution of national army and said his party is strictly for upholding professionalism and bringing democratic transformation in the NA.
Meanwhile, the UML secretary called Maoists to abandon their extreme left-wing ideology, totalitarian thoughts, and their adherence to weapons.
