EFFORTS UNDERWAY TO REMOVE OBSTACLE TO DISCUSS STATE RESTRUCTURE COMMISSION REPORT
Kathmandu, 14 March: A meeting of business advisory committee of the constituent assembly (CA) has been called Wednesday to amend rules to present a report of the government-appointed state reorganization commission to the assembly for discussion.
The commission report prepared nearly 50 days is at a four-member committee of the assembly amid differences between parties on
where to direct the suggestions.
There was agreement at a meeting of the Big Three and Speaker
Subash Nemwang to send the report to the CA.
The committee will consider amendments to procedures to present the report to the CA.
Effort to form provinces in a federal structure to replace the present unitary state have hit hurdles amid opposition to form states units on ethnic
and caste lines.
