THREE TOP MAOIST LEADERS MEET SUNDAY UPDATE
Kathmandu, 18 March: Maoist Chairman Prachanda held consultations on intra-party issues Sunday with Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kazi Shrestha , who are party vice-chairman.
The meeting followed Saturday’s threat of rebellion against the government and
party establishment by First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya group’s
dissatisfaction with government and parry establishment.
The meeting decided to give continuity to the Bhattarai government.
The rebellious group announced it will bring a no-confidence motion against the Bhattarai government with opposition support.
Prachanda held discussions earlier Sunday morning with Bhattarai and fresh
discussions were held at the residence of ailing Shrestha in Pulchowk.n

MADESH FRONT SAYS THERE’S A CONSPIRACY AGAINST FEDERALISM.
Kathmandu, 18 March: A meeting of Madesh morcha io a front with Maoists in government expressed dissatisfied with Maoists leading the government
A meeting concluded a 4-point agreement that forged the alliance pushing
regional Madesh interests was not being implemented amid threats the five terai parties will quit government after six months in government.
The meeting continues Monday.
The front concluded there’s a conspiracy against federalism and decided to
conduct a nation-wide awareness for federalism.

PHYSICAL PLANNING MINISTER HRIDESH TRIPATHI APPEARS
BEFORE PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE
Kathmandu, 18 March: Minister for Physical Planning Hridesh Tripathi deposed before parliament’s development committee on the appears before parliament’s development committee to explain continuing demolition of houses and roads in the capital and other centers in the Valley Sunday.
Tripathi said the Bhattarai government was only implementing decisions of the revious governments.
He assured compensation to persons affected by demolitions as specified by law.
The committee ordered compensation for the affected.
