MODERATE QUAKE HITS INDO-NEPAL BORDER REGION IN THE SOUTH-EAST
Kathmandu, 28 March: A moderate earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit the indo-Nepal along Sunsari and Jhapa in the south-east at
5:10 in the morning Wednesday.
The US (USGS).Geological Survey said the epicenter of the quake was
63 km (39 miles) South-east of Biratnagar in Nepal and 395 km (245 miles) North of Kolkata in West Bengal of India.
Immediate reports of damage haven;tbeen received by Nepall authorities.
East Nepal along the Nepal-Sikkim was hit by a strong tremor last yea
causing extensive damage.

ESTABLISHMENT FACTION MEET OF UCPN (MAOIST) BEGINS
Kathmandu, 28 March: A one-day delayed meeting of the
establishment faction of the UCPN (Maoist) started in the
capital Wednesday without dissidents participating.
A faction of the Mohan Baidhaya faction boycotted the meet which was originally scheduled to begin Tuesday.
