MAOIST FIGHTERS AT 7TH DIVISION WITHDRAW SIT-IN
Kathmandu, 28 March:: The former combatants of the Maoist Army, staging a sit-in at the Army's Seventh Division Office here, have postponed their agitation on Tuesday, RSS reports from Dhangadi.

The former combatant, out of the camps, following UNMIN verification, were staging a dharna and padlocked the Office demanding property rehabilitation, among others.

They postponed the protest program after an agreement was reached between Maoist leader and Minister Lekh Raj Bhatta, Maoist Army Commander Nanda Kishore Pun and the agitating former combatants. The agreement was reached following a day-long dialogue on Tuesday.

As per the agreement, the Peace Ministry shall introduce a rehabilitation package for the former combatants, effort shall be made to remove the 'disqualified' tag and the Maoist party too would provide some cash incentive, the agitating combatants said.

They had been staging the sit-in since the past four days.

Some 272 combatants from the Seventh Division had failed the UNMIN Verification, and thereby exited.
