NC CONTINUES REGIONAL MEET ON STATE STRUCTURE, PEACE

NC DISCUSSES STATE STRUCTURE , PEACE ON LAST DAY OF
TWO-DAY MEET

Kathmandu, 7 March: Altogether 250 top leaders from 16 districts in the eastern region are participating in the first of five camps on peace and a future state structure.
District presents presented their views on the first day of the two-day closed camp
Tuesday.
Central leaders adothers are resenting their opinions Wednesday.
Details of the camp will be made public at the conclusion of the camp
Wednesday in Itahari.
Dr Minendra Rijal and Gagan Thapa presented two papers state reorganization and peace process prepard respectively for discussion.
“The meeting has bee convened to probe how to create confidence between,
Himal, Hill and Terai provinces,” NC President Sushil Koirala said as the main opposition rejected ethnic provinces.
After a hostile attitude to Royal Nepal Army immediately after the royal takeover and a now a perception change, opposition parties NC and UML also have had ar-thinkof a federation promoted in a 12-ppont agreement brokered by India betweenthem seven parliamentary parties and Maoists.
NC is opposed to ore than seven provinces and advocated federations on a north south divide as in the panchayat.
