Kathmandu, 24 March: The secretariat of a special committee for integration and supervision of former Maoist fighters Saturday submitted personal details
9,700 fighters who have opted integration in Nepal Army (NA).
This was disclosed by Secretariat Coordinator Balananda Sharma who said a plan for integration will be presented to the special committee headed ex-officio by the
prime minister Sunday.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai directed Army Chief Gen. Chatraman Singh
Gurung this week to prepare the plan in five days
The premier is among few persons who believe peace and constitution drafting
processes will be completed by 28 May.
Fighters are again being asked to record their preferences for retirement or
integration for the second time.

First South Asian Weightlifting Championship in Nepalgunj Saturday.

Nepal collected six golds in the two-day competition
India topped the medal tally finished first with 22 golds; Sri Lanka came and Nepal third followed by Bangladesh.
Pun lifted 63kg in snatch and 90 kg in clean and jerk for a total weight of 153 kg in women´s 69 kg weight category.
Nepal collected three golds the first day.
