PM ATTEMPTING TO PLAY WITH ARMY ON AN EXCLUSIVE ARMY CHIEF BELIEVES

SAPTARI TEACHER JAILED FOR FINANCIAL IRREGULARITIES
Kathmandu, 1 March:: The District Administration Office, Saptari, has sent a headmaster to jail on the charge of committing corruption, RSS reports.

Headmaster of Rastriya Primary School at Trikol VDC-9 of Saptari, Amodi Mandal, was jailed for embezzling Rs. 164, 800 of the school by the District Administration Office.



Mandal had embezzled the amount by making fake signature, when investigated into it on the petition filed by School Management Committee Chairman Krishna Dev Biraji.

He was demanded double the amount embezzled or Rs. 329,600 and was sent to jail after he could not produce the amount as bail.

ARMY CHIEF UNHAPPY WITH PM

Kathmandu, 1 March: Military leader is angered with an attempt to play with the Nepal Army (NA) by the wrong interpretation of NA Army preliminary briefing to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Maoist fighter preparation and integration, Kiran Pokhrel and
Bishnu Subedi write in Annapurna Post.
Army Chief Gen. Chatraman Singh Gurung met the premier and expressed dissatisfaction with the behaviour.
Army leadership believes with the wrong interpretation of the of the army contribution to end the peace process and patience, the prime minister is attempting to create a rift between army and loktantrik forces like NC and UML.
Before it started, the chief said the meeting should be exclusive in which even Chairman Prachanda shouldn’t be present.
Sources said Gen., Gurung is angry with the silence of the government chief following the controversy created by exaggerated reports of the army briefing. Nobody else was present at the briefing.
Army asked for an immediate public clarification which never
came.
Army finally issued its own version of the briefing.
‘Is an attempt being made to play with he army?” a source quoted Gen. Gurng as asking.
