PM BHATTARAI PRESENTS PROPOSAL FOR INTEGRATION, REJECTED BY OPPOSITION
Kathmandu, 13 March: Amid opposition criticism, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Tuesday presented a proposal for integration of former Maoists in state Nepal Ary (NA) to a special committee for integration and supervision he heads.
The committee meets again Friday for further discussions after initial
discussion on the proposal./a.
Opposition NC and UML leaders said the proposal was against a 7-point agreement—the basis for an agreement to end a current deadlock pressed by non-governing
parties.
The proposal was’ preliminary’, NC’s Dr. Ram, Sharan Mahat said quoting
the government chief who is also a top Maoist leader.
“It was preliminary Comments were made and it laws not up to expectation.” Ahat added.
Mahat quoted the premier as saying the proposal ‘was not the army’s proposal. This is not a final proposal.”
The comment comes at a time when suggestions were floated NA had
presented to the government chief an idea for integration described as positive.
Mahat revealed the proposal detail a structure for a directorate which UML leader Bhim Rawal hinted was independent from NC and wouldn’t be acceptable to his
party.

MAN ARRESTED IN KAILALI FOR SHOOTING, INJURING TWO FRIENDS
Kathmandu, 13 March: Lal Bahadur Magar was arrested Monday night from a forest in Kailali for shooting and injuring two friends in the district.
He allegedly shot and injured Chandra Bahadur Chand
and Kalu Gurung the same day and fled.
The critically injured have been rushed to Lucknow for
treatment.
