RPP CHAIRMAN RANA SAYS UNITY TALKS WITH TWO
OTHER PArTIES FOR AN ALTERNATIVE GOVT.
Kathmandu, 12 March: RPP Chairman Pashupati Shumshere Rana
said Monday his party is pursuing unity with two other parties also
of the panchayat era for an alternative government.
“Talks are being held with Rashtriya Janashakto Party (JSP) and
RPP-Nepal for an alternative,” Rana told Radio Nepal without elaborating.
RPP and RJP abandoned its traditional support for absolute monarchy and have adopted a republican agenda.
But RPP-Neal continues support for a Hindu state and constitutional
monarchy saying their future should be decided by are referendum.
When the questioner reminded Rana, he said,” We have adopted a republican agenda. The situation is difficult, But let’s see,” Rana said.
RPP and RJP support main opposition NC and the more of the parties is seen immediately as an attempt to get together lawmakers against the incumbent government of Maoists and Madeshi lawmakers.

LEGALITY FOR AMNESTY FOR 360 PLUS CHARGED FOR
CRIMES CHALLENGED
Kathmandu, 12 March: A group of lawyers headed by Madhav Kumar Basnet Sunday asked the supreme court to overturn an amnesty of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai government’s decision this week to amnesty more than 360 plus persons, including the premier and chairman of his party UCPN (Maoist).
The amnesty came through a decision to withdraw cases register cases in courts.
The group says the decision breached Nepal’s commitment to
human rights impacting the country’s criminal justice system.
One of the reasons for the Bhattarai government is to amnesty it sparty leaders and take advantage from holding on to power.

EVEREST BANK LTD RENEWS TECHNICAL SERVICE
AGREEMENT WITH INDIA’S PNB
Kathmandu, 12 March: Everest Bank Ltd ((EBL) has renewed a technical service agreement with India’s Punjab National Bank (PNB) for five years.
The renewal has to be approved by Nepal Rashtra Bank.
