THREE KILLED, AT LAST 25 INJURED IN SAPTARI BUS
ACCIDENT

Kathmandu, 21 March: Three persons were killed, including a
policeman and child, and at least 25 others were injured Wednesday
morning in a bus accident at Marchaiya Bazzar in Saptari.
The bus was heading for Dharan from Gaighat in Udaipur.
Four persons were injured Wednesday in a bus accident at Teplejung; the bus was heading for JJhapa from eastern hill district headquarters.
One person was killed when his motorcycle hit a tractor at Lalmitany
in Dang overnight.

MOHAN BAIDHYA COOL TO UCPN (MAOIST) DECISION TO CONVENE PARTY CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET

Kathmandu, 21 March: Maoist First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidhya, who has called for the ouster of the Baburam Government through street and parliamentary protests was cool to a UCPN (Maoist) decision Tuesday to convene a meeting of a central committee to discuss intra-party
differences.
“‘The decision of the previous meeting hasn’t been implemented.
Calling another meeting is meaningless,” Baidhya said.
He said the central committee then took a decision to convene
a central committee meeting in one week and implement a common
agreed programme.
The meeting never took place.
The second ranking party leader said he hasn’t been notified of
Tuesday’s party establishment decision nor was he consulted.
“There’s no notification of the meeting,. There’s no point of

UML CHARMAN KHANAL FLIES FOR NEW DELHI
THURSDAY

Kathmandu, 21 March: UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal is finally
going to New Delhi for ‘medical treatment’ Thursday, a published
report said quoting the party Wednesday.
Khanal is visiting the Indian capital for a rare visit; he has been
avoiding visits to New Delhi during the royal regime and later to
discuss Nepal and garner support from Indian government and
parties for internal political moves.
Two other party leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Sharma Oki hv stong India connections.
Oli was inducted into top party leadership to improve the party’s relations with India, UML leaders confessed.
Oli is ranked third in the party after induction and Nepal second
Citing inadequate contacts with India, Oli was given top
party responsibility in the opposition party to strengthen ties with
India.

UML STANDING COMMITTEE MEET

Kathmandu, 21 March: The standing committee of opposition UML
meets Wednesday to discuss the delayed peace and constitution drafting processes.
Pradip Geywali, top party functionary, said the meeting will also
review what was called a government failure to maintain peace and
other issues related with government.
