Kathmandu, 10 March: Main opposition NC lawmakers Narahari Acharya and Bal Bahadur KC were arrested Saturday morning for obstructing road expansion workat Gairidhara in the capital.
Extension work continues, eyewitnesses said.

FOREIGN MINISTER SAYS HE WASN’T AWARE OF BACKGROUD OF PROPOSED AMASSADOR EVEN AS TOP PARTY LEADER

Kathmandu, 1- March: Foreign Minister Narayan Kazi Shrethsa, said Saturday he dinl;t know the wife of a proposed Nepali ambassador was a national of Sikkim, an
Indian state with a majority people of Nepali origin.
“I don’t now even now the wife of proposed ambassador Ram Karki’s wife is
working with the Indian Sikkim government,” Shrestha, who is also deputy
prime minister, told Kantipur in an interview.
“But I don’t feel the concurrence of the Indian government hasn’t come so far for this reason,” ailing foreign minister who just returned from Japan more than one month ago following an operation said.
Shrestha still works out of home and hasn’t gone to office.
Karki’s name as ambassador was proposed more than three months ago.
Senior Maoist leader Shrestha’s claim comes as Karki’s appointment wasn’t accepted by New Delhi in another Maoist-le government headed by Chairman Prachanda.
