MAOISTS STILL ATTEMPTING TO SPREAD CONFUSING SAYS SUSHIL KOIRALA
Kathmandu, 4 April: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has said that the relevance of the incumbent Maoist-led government would come to an end if the peace process is not settled within mid-April, RSS reports from Janakpurdham..
According to NC prez, the peace process has been derailed due to Maoist’s dillydallying in the implementation of the seven-point deal.
“Maoists are still pretending and attempting to confuse others,” said Koirala at a press conference organized here today by Nepal Press Union, Dhanusha.
On the occasion, Koirala stressed that the government should be formed under the NC leadership to conclude the peace process after mid-April.
Koirala also pointed out the need that the incumbent Prime Minister should step down after mid-April to give outlet to the country.
The NC President made it clear that the demand of ‘One Madhes One Province is not scientific and practical, arguing the idea to carve out provinces based on ethnic lines would lead the country to disintegration.
Speaking at the same programme, NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel said the Nepali Congress is not in favour of reviving the 1990 Constitution.
