BIG THREE TO MEET IN DHULIKHEL TUESDAY

Kathmandu, 10 April: The Big Thee meet Tuesday at a resort in Dhulikhel.
to discuss delayed peace process and constitution drafting one day after agreeing to amend a constitution to promulgate a constitution by 27 May.
The parties agreed Monday to amend article 70 of an interim constitution to shorten the three-week process to amend a basic law.
NC President Sushil Koirala, on a tour of terai districts, cut short his visit, and retrned to the capital Monday to be present at the Dhilkhkel meet.
Leaders have to agree Tuesday on differences holding up integration of 6,500 Maoist fighters as two main opposition parties NC and UML insist integration must be completed and Maoists disarmed efore promulgation of a basic law.

DELAYED VOLUNTARY RETIREMENT OF MAOIST FIGHTES TO BEGIN TUESDAY

Kathmandu, 10 April: Stalled voluntary retirement of former Maoist PLA
fighters will begin at remaining 15 cantonments and satellite cams Tuesday following an emergency meeting of commanders in the capital where they were
summoned by the party for a meeting of a party standing committee.
The process was scheduled to start Sunday.
Fighters from among the remaining 9,900 plus fighters have been given a second chance to choose between voluntary retirement or integration of Nepal Army where thre aonly 6,500 openings.
All the fighters at the cantonments opted for integration.
Officials of the secretariat under a special committee headed ex-officio by the prime minister are ready to begin the process,
Meanwhile, the special committee meets Tuesday. to discuss technical
issues on integration of former fighters, including ank, training the set-up of a directorate under the state army, to complete the integration process originally scheduled for 12 April.
The deadline will be missed.
