CA MEETS 23 APRIL;OTHER DETAILS
Kathmandu 18 April: Parliament’s business advisory committee (BAC)
Wednesday extended the deadline of the Constitutional Committee (CC) to
22 April to reconcile differences on articles in a proposed constitution.
A five-day extension was sought Tuesday by ae Prachanda sub-committee and
the CC chaired by NilambarAcharya.
The Constituent Assembly (CA) has been convened one day later 23 April
The constitution will be put to vote incase there again is no consensus between parties.
The CA’s full house meeting has been called on April 23 for voting on the unresolved issues.

MADESH LAWMAKERS FROM CAUSUS
Kathmandu, 18 April: Madesh lawmakers from 15 parties, including major parties like Maoists, NC and UML, formed a caucus to develop a common stance on terai issues tobe included in a constitution.
A seven-member committee to prepare a report by Thursday is headed by
chairman of MJFN Upendra Yadav who is not represented in government.

SHERPA DEAD ON EVEREST
Kathmandu, 18 April: Karseng Namgyal Sherpa died at Everest base camp while attempting to climb the 8848 meters world’s tallest peak this spring.
The death is the first this spring climbing season.
