FIVE KOREAN VOLUNTEERS SECONDED TO PROECTS Kathmandu, 25 April: Five South Koran volunteers who arrived 27 February: have been assigned for two years to wok in and outside the Valley, the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) said Tuesday. They will work in environment, education, social welfare and computer sectors. One volunteer each will be stationed at Pulchowk-based Institute of Engineering, Dhulikhel-based Kathmandu University, Bidur Municipality, Bharatpur-based School of Health Science, and Kaski District Education Office.. KOICA’s said its presence in Nepal would help transfer Korean knowledge directly to the grassroots. Nnnn PARLIAMENT’S PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE ASKS 518 VAT DEFAULTERS BE NAMED Kathmandu, 25 April: Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Tuesday asked the finance ministry to make public names of 518 persons and firms VAT defaulters within seven days. A ministry body didn’t release names of evaders causing government millions of rupees in losses after a study. The committee said the public have right to information. nnnn THREE STAR CLUB PLAY HIMALAYAN SHERPA CLUB IN SEMI-FINAL OF BRITISH GURKHA CUP WEDNESDAY Kathmandu, 25 April: The first semi-final will be played of the British Gurkha Cup will be played Wednesday between Mega Three Star Club and Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club under floodlight. In the second between Manang Marshyangdi Club will take on Nepal Police Club Thursday. The Dashrath Ranghashala haf been upgraded for a AFC Asian tournament enabling the night matches. The finals is lscheduled for Saturday. nnnn.
