DISSIDENT MAOIST DISRUPTION OF VEHICULAR MOVEMENT GOES OFF PEACEFULLY UPDATE

Kathmandu, 11 April: A hour-hour nation-wide Wednesday disruption of
vehicles by Maoist dissidents from 10 in the morning to protest Tuesday’s
‘surrender’ by party and government to Nepal Army( NA) went off peacefully.
Leader of the dissident camp Netra Bahadur Chand of the rebel Baidhya group
said meetings are ongoing drawing up further protests.

ELECTION COMMISSION REQUEST TO HELP COMPLETE ELECTORAL
ROLL

Kathmandu, 11 April: Election Commission Wednesday asked 16-year-olds whose names were might have been missing from a voters’ list and update the published file.
The request came amid reports of names were missing from the list.
Parliamentary elections will be held after a constitution is promulgated probably by 27 May.

GOVT. APPEAL TO PEOPLE TO REPORT NAMES OF BLACKMARKTERS AND HOARDERS

Kathmandu, 11 April: Government issued a public appeal Wednesday to report names and institutions involved in blackmarketing of LPG cylinders
Th e appeal was issued amid government failure to ensure normal supply for months amid reports of widespread official corruption and problems in import from India.
The notice said hoarding is a punishable crime.
