PROMULGATING CONSTITUTION; KP SHARMA OLI
Kathmandu, 7 April: CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli claimed that the current government would not promulgate constitution but was hatching conspiracy to retain power for indefinite time.
Speaking at a function organised to mark the 33rd Memorial Day of Ratna Kumar Bantawa in the Capital on Saturday, he said, "Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist), Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai are pretending that they are for constitution writing but do not really like to write constitution."
"They have been plotting conspiracies to remain in power for the indefinite time by dissolving the Constituent Assembly," he accused.
He opined that the UML was not for federating state on the basis of ethnicity because federalism on the basis of ethnicity would lead to a compulsion to make more than 100 states which is not possible.
On the occasion, Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Subash Nembang, said pressure on the political parties needs to be mounted to bring constitution on time.
He said there was no alternative to concluding peace and constitution writing.
The senior leaders of political parties have no time for further discussion in the meeting of Business Advisory Committee, he said, adding, it is time to make final decision.
On the occasion, the leaders assured initiation to declare Ratna Kumar Bantawa a martyr.
Bantawa, who was born in 2008 BS in Ilam, was killed by police in 2035 BS in while waging struggle against party-less Panchayat system.

INDIAN CALL FOR ENVIRONMENMT TO INVESTMENT
Kathmandu, 7 April:: The members of a CEOs mission from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have expressed their willingness to invest in Nepal provided that investment-friendly climate is created, RSS reports.

They have also expressed the hope that peace and stability would be established in Nepal in the near future.

Speaking at a news conference here today at the end of the mission's three-day visit, mission leader and CII president, B Muthuraman said the Indian investors are interested in investing in the hydropower sector if there is political stability and industrial peace in Nepal.

Muthuraman, who is also the president of the Joint Economic Council of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and CII, said the Indian businessmen are also willing to invest in mining industry, tourism, health and agriculture sectors.

He expressed the confidence that Nepal would march ahead towards economic prosperity after concluding all tasks related to peace and constitution-writing. He added that he was encouraged after holding talks with the President, the Prime Minister and the Industry Minister.

The CII president also said that he would take the message of the government here declaring the Nepal Investment Year and constituting the Investment Board following the creation of investment climate in the country to the Indian business fraternity. He added that he would also call upon them to mobilize their capital in Nepal.

Co-president of the Council and CA member Padma Jyoti expressed the confidence that the transition would come to an end soon and Nepal wouldmove forward on the road to economic prosperity.
