Kathmandu, 8 April: Vice-president of Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has said the peace process must be concluded in order to avoid hindrance on
constitution writing, RSS reports..
At a mass meet organized by the district working committee Kathmandu of the party as part of the campaign for democratic constitution by May 27, in the capital on Sunday, Vice-President Poudel, however, expressed suspicion over the conclusion of army integration as the Maoists' fighters in the cantonments were travelling to Kathmandu at a time the army integration team was heading to cantonments.
He accused the UCPN-Maoist of trying to bring people's constitution in spite of the democratic constitution with the guarantee of human rights, press freedom, independent judiciary, and inclusive federalism.
Leader Poudel decried the Maoists' assurance of ethnic states to people.
On the occasion, leader Narahari Acharya said federal state would be strong if there is democracy.
For the sustainability of freedom and rule of law, arms must be surrendered, he said, adding that his party was focusing this.
Similarly, leader Dr Sekhar Koirala warned that if the Ieaders of any party violate seven-point agreement, their cadres would not spare them. He further said impunity must come to an end for democratic constitution.
Also speaking on the occasion, leaders Navindra Raj Joshi, Chakra Bahadur Thakuri, and Krishna Amatya said the Maoists was the main obstruction behind the ability to promulgate constitution even after four years of the constituent assembly elections.
They stressed on heeding people's desperate need of timely constitution. Moreover, they said the Nepali Congress was against the ethnicity-based federalism was would invite disintegration.

INTERNATIONAL EFFORT TO SAVE VULTURE IN NEPAL
Kathmandu, 8 April: The international vulture festival has begun at Panchanagar in Nawalparasi district from Sunday. The three-day festival organised at the initiative of Panchanagar Village Development Committee has different stalls related to a variety of publicity materials for spreading public awareness on vulture
Conservation, RSS reports from Parasi.
The objective of the festival is to make people aware of the crucial place of vulture in maintaining the ecosystem, said festival main preparations committee coordinator, Yadav Khanal.
The organizers expect some 2,000 people will observe the event.
Pictures of several species of vulture found in Nepal have been put on a display in the festival. They were taken and collected by Photo Journalist (associated with Annapurna Post, a national daily), Krishnamani Baral.
It is learnt that out of nine species of vulture found in the South Asia, eight are found in Nepal.
The first international vulture festival was organised at Basa of Tilakpur in the district last year.
