SUGAT RATNA KAMSAKAR CLEARED OF CIAA CORRUPTION CHARGE Kathmandu, 25 April: Sugar Ratna Kansakar CEO of Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNA) was cleared Tuesday of corruption charge leveled by CIAA for extending a lock-up money of $75,000 for purchase of two Airbuses to expand reinforce the international flights of the state carrier. The money was aid without asking for a tender. The US embassy in Kathmandu was involved in pushing a case on behalf of rival Boeing, according to WikiLeaks. The supreme also cleared Spokesman Raju KC, Ganesh Thakur, Gyanendra Purush Dhakal, Mayur Shumshere Rana and Keshab Raj Sharma of the charge. “The decision clears the way to revive the purchase,” KC said. Kansakar is a former chief of Nepal Telecom from where he was transferred to NAC> nnnn. HEARING DATE ON CORRUPTION CHARGE AGAINST FORMER MINISTER GOBINDA RAJ JOSHI FIXED Kathmandu, 25 April: Special court will conduct final hearing on corruption case filed by CIAA against former NC Home Minister Gobinda Raj Joshi 13 May. Supreme court ordered the court to re-open the case which was dismissed by the lower court on a technicality.
