NC, UML REJECT REQUESTS TO JOIN GOVT.
Kathmandu, 15 April: One day after four parties of Madesbadi parties in government asled parties to join a national government led by incumbent Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, opposition NC and UML leaders Sunday rejected a request to join the incumbent Bhattarai administration.
NC leader Dr.. Ram Sharan Mahat even said his party won’t join a ‘corrupt’ government.
UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said his party will support the main opposition if it stakes a claim to government
But political aide Devendra Paudel of the government said any search for a replacement of Bhatrarai will have serious consequences for the country.
UML leader Pradip Geywali said his won’t join the government until a 4-point agreement between Maoists and the Madeshbadi parties is abrogated.

GOVT. GIVES DETAILS OF TAX EVASTION WITHOUT REVEALING IDENTITYOF FIRMS
Kathmandu, 15 April: Finance ministry , in th eprsence of Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun, Sunday gave details of widespread tax evasion by 518
firms totaling Rs 6.6 billion after a year’s study.
But the firms weren’t identified.
Income tax, VAT and excise duties were due to government.
Fake VAT bills were presented, officials said.

INDIGENOUS GROUPS DEMAND NEW CONSTITUTION
Kathmandu, 15 April: Indigenous Nationalities Rights Forum has demanded promulgation of the new constitution ensuring welfare and rights of the indigenous nationalities, Madhesis, Muslims and Dalit communities and women, RSS reports.
The Forum has put forward this demand at a time the constitution writing process is underway following the completion of important works of the peace process.

At a press meet organized here today [Sunday]
, former minister Mani Lama said the Forum will launch agitation if the new constitution did not declare federal states with identity.



Former minister Lama stressed that the government should fulfill different demands including proportional representation in all sectors on the basis of population of the different ethnic groups, formation of a commission to systematize unmanaged settlements and representation of all communities in the Nepal Army and Police.
