PARTIES AGREE TO AMEND INTERIM CONSTITUTION TO FACILITATE PROMULGATION OF CONSTITUTION
Kathmandu, 9 April : Parties in constituent assembly (CA) agreed Monday at a meeting convened by Prime Minister to amend an interim
constitution to remove hurdles to facilitate the promulgation of a constitution.
Chairman Subash Nemwang said promulgation wasn’t possible
without such amendment.
Article 70 is being amended, UML Chairman Jalanath Khanal said after the meeting.
The chairman earlier though the premier reminded parties of their commitment to peace and a constitution.
A basic law has to be promulgated by 27 May.
