PARTIES AGREE TO RECONSIDER PROPOSED PARLIAMENT SIZE FOLLOWING CRITICISM Kathmandu, 26 April:After heavy criticisms from different walks of live over political consensus to the 385-member parliament in the new constitution, leaders of different political parties on Thursday opined that the decision can be reconsidered. Speaking at an interaction in the capital, secretary of UCPN (Maoist) CP Gajurel said the 14 province model submitted by the Constituent Committee on State Restructuring is more or less satisfactory regarding the state-restructuring. Chief whip of CPN (UML) Bhim Acharya claimed that ethnicity based federalism was not viable at any cost but opined that there are high chances of constitution promulgation on May 27. Likewise, Nepali Congress leader Gopal Man Shrestha said the Prime Minister should resign within May 27 as per the 7-point agreement. After that NC led government will be formed, Shrestha claimed. However, Co-chairman of Nepal Sadbhavana Party Laxmanlal Karna said parliamentary system with less than 300 lawmakers will not appropriate for Nepal. Similarly, chairman of Rastriya Janamorcha Chitra Bahadur KC said Maoist party's infighting has obstructed the ongoing peace process and writing of the new constitution. nnnn
