THREE PARTIES PREPARE FOR CRUCIAL MEET Kathmandu, 24 April:: Major three big political parties on Tuesday held informal meetings of their central committees in order to make their views uniform on state restructuring, RSS reports. The UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, and the CPN-UML held their central committee meeting at the CA building today. The UML also invited the experts on state restructuring in the meeting. Meanwhile, the three parties have begun a joint meeting with the United Democratic Madhesi Front and other fringe parties representing in the Constituent Assembly. Nnnn DIFFERENCES IN UCPN (MAOIST) ESCALATE Kathmandu, 24 April: Secretary of the UCPN-Maoist, CP Gajurel has said Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Vice-Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai have, now, no right to remain in the UCPN-Maoist party, RSS reports from Bhaktaopir. Speaking at an interaction organized by the Rafat Media Club here on Tuesday, Secretary Gajurel said they had no right to stay in the party because they have already deviated from the party's notion and principles. "I suggest Chairman Dahal and Vice-chairman Dr Bhattarai to join the Nepali Congress or the CPN-UML instead," he added. Moreover, leader Gajurel, who belongs to the radical faction of the party, led by Vice-Chairman Mohan Baidya, accused Chairman Dahal and Vice-Chairman Dr Bhattarai of surrendering PLA fighters to the Nepali Army due to the fear that corruption involving the combatants and cantonments, would be exposed. There is no hope of getting a people's constitution, he said, adding that the three parties and the Madhesi Front were busy in a clandestine 'give and take' deal. Similarly, he said some leaders of Maoist and of other parties were hatching a conspiracy to impose anti-people constitution by terrorizing people of another war in the country if the constitution was not made by May 27. According to Secretary Gajurel, present government was the most tainted and corrupt government in Nepal's history, so it must step down. He warned of vigorous protest if the constitution was brought against the people's desire. The protest would be peaceful, and if necessary, they would later turn violent with taking up of arms, he warned. Nnnn MUSLIMS DEMAND RIGHTS AS CONSTITUTION IS BEING FINALIZED Kathmandu, 24 April: Muslims in Mohattari staged a demonstration at the district headquarters, Jaleswar on Tuesday, calling for inclusion of their rights in the new constitution, RSS reports from Gaushala. Some 2,500 Muslims living in various parts of the district had gathered at Jaleswar for the demonstration. The procession taken out as part of the demonstration went round various parts of Jaleswar before a memorandum was handed over to Chief District Officer (CDO) Pradip Raj Kandel. Nnnn HETAUDA CEMENT FACTORY RESUMES PRODUCTION Kathmandu, 24 April:: Hetauda Cement Factory, which remained close for three weeks, has started production from Tuesday afternoon, RSS reports. The industry stopped the production after the furnace was damaged after its bricks collapsed. The industry has started production after the special bricks were installed by bringing from India, said General Manager of the industry Ramesh Prasad Aryal. nnnn
