TOP US DIPLOMAT TELLS MAOIST CHIEF OVER TELEPHONE
US HOPES FOR DEMOCRATIC CONSTITUTION BY DEADLINE

Kathmandu, 14 April: Chairman of UCPN (Maoist) Pusha Kamal Dahal and US
Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O Blake
talked over telephone on maters relating to the peace process and the
constitution making on Friday. RSS reports.
Durng the telephone conversation, Assistant Secretary of State Blake lauded the
role played by the UCPN (Maoist) in concluding the peace process, according to
Dahal’s press aide Santosh Poudel.
….Blake also expressed the confidence that Chairman Dahal would have a more
important role in the promulgation of a democratic constitution as per the people’s aspirations.
US Assistant Secretary of State Blake expressed the confidence that Nepal would
enter into a new era through the promulgation of the new constitution as per
schedule.
