UPDATE LEADERS BEGIN TALKS FOR BREAKTHROUGH
ON CONSTITUTION

Kathmandu, 16 April: Following agreement on integration in Nepal Army (NA) and voluntary retirement processes and procedures, leaders of the biggest parties Monday began negotiations at Hattiban Resort for a breakthrough to promulgate a constitution by 27 May,
But parties have to first settle differences on articles to be included in a basic law by Monday
Parties has agreed to settle differences by Tuesday to avoid lengthy process of the passage of each article in a 601-member constituent assembly (CA) by
a two-third majority vote.
There’s no agreement of a state structure, formof governance, judiciary and election system

ARMY JOB NO LONGER ATTRACTION FOR LFORMER PLA FIGHTERS

Kathmandu, 16 April: A job is the Nepal Army (NA) is no longer an attraction for former Maoist fighters.
This appears to be the case as 9,900 former combatants are being asked whether theywant to join NA or go on voluntary retirement after four years in th remaining 15 antonments and satellite camps.
Altogether 4,080 former combatants have sought voluntary retirement until Sunday
as 5,625 fighters remain in cantonments.
The regrouping will be completed in the next two days, coordinator Balananda Sharma of a special committee for integration and supervision said headed ex-
officio by the prime minister said.
.Those that sought retirement previously opted for integration when asked the first time.
There are 6,5000 vacancies for the former PLA fighters in the NA and they won’t be filled as remaining 5,625 fighters will also opt for retirement.

RCT PLAYS MACHINDRANATH CLUB IN BRITISH GURKHA CUP MONDAY

Kathmandu, 16 April: Rani Pokhari Team (RCT) will play Machindranath

Club in the only match Monday of the British Gurkha Cup in the capital.
The knockout tournament got underway Saturday.
