CLOSURE OF FAR-WEST CONTINUES
Kathmandu, 5 May: Nine districts in the far-West was closed down for the eighth day
Saturday inconveniencing lives of people over dividing nine districts in the
poorest region of the country.
Protests first began over division of the region first proposed by Maoists.
Tharuss now are demanding their own ethnic province in Kailali and Kanchanpur.
The districts were closed down by Tharus Saturday.
Three motorcycles were torched at Doti headquarters Saturday.

TWO DEAD, TWO INJURED IN
KANCHANPUR
Kathmandu, 5 May; Two persons were killed and at least two dozen were injured overnight in a bus accident at Kanchanpur.
Passengers were heading for Bhajang from Mahendranagar.

BACKGROUND TO SIGNING OF BREAKTHROUGH AGREEMENT
Kathmandu, 5 May: Serious discussions were held in New Delhi on the latest developments on Nepal, Nepalipatra reports.
Indian Ambassador Jayant Prasad with his Kathmandu team was in the Indian capital for discussions.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was directly involved in the talks.
Prasad returned to Kathmandu immediately after the talks and held consultations with various leaders Wednesday.
The Prasad team held discussions with Prachanda, Prime Minister Bhattarai, UMl’s KP Sharma Oki and Madhav Kumar Nepal. DR. Ram Sharan Mahat, Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar and Mahanta Thakur.
Then at the initiative of the Indian ambassador, a meeting was held at Speaker
Subash Nemwang’s office between Prachanda, Sushil Koirala and Madhav
Kumar Nepal.
Environment changed following the meeting.
The same day in the evening, Madesh. Morcha decided to join government. .
