DPM NARAYAN KAZI SHRESTHA CANCELS EGYPT VISIT Kathmandu, 8 May: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister Narayan Kazi Shrestha has cancelled his scheduled visit of Egypt to attend a ministerial meeting of non-aligned foreign ministers in Sharm el-Sheik.his aid and foreign ministry sources said. The cabinet has approved the visit and he was scheduled to leave for his first foreign visit after re-appointment. The visit was cancelled because of internal political reasons. nnnn SUPREME COURT ASKS GOVT. WHY SHYAM SUNDAR SUPTA SHOULDN’T BE ALLOWED TOATTEND CA SESSIONS Kathmandu, 8 May: A single bench of the supreme court Monday asked government to furnish a reply within 15 days why constituent assembly (CA) member Shyam Sundar Gupta jailed for extortion and kidnap shouldn’t be allowed entitlements as a member of the body. Gupta has been jailed for three months says he should be allowed to attend CA session saying he still continues to be an assembly member. The bench asked Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers to furnish their replies. A Maoist member of CA/parliament moves around freely and he even attended parliamentary meetings after conviction of murder by the apex court. Nnnn ONE KILLED, 12 INJURED IN SAPTARI BUS COLLISION Kathmandu, 8 May: One person was injured and 12 others were injured in a direct collision between two busies in Saptari at 8.30 in the morning Tuesday. The injured are undergoing treatment at Lahan hospital. nnnn
