INDEFINITE JANAKPUR STRIKE CALLED OFF FOR ONE DAY FRIDAY Kathmandu, 4 May: An indefinite strike protesting Monday’s bombing in Janakpur killing five persons and injuring more than 30 others activists of Mithila province was called off for one day Friday. Nnnn LIGHTNING KILLS TWO IN DHADING Kathmandu, 4 May:: Two people have died and two others have sustained injuries after lightning struck them at Bhinse, Mahadevsthan VDC-1 in Dhading district on Thursday night, RSS reports from Gajuri. According to the District Police Office, the deceased have been identified as 65-year-old Tok Bahadur Gurung and 45-year-old Deep Bahadur Gurung of Bhainse. Kanchhi Maya Gurung and Seti Maya Magar have sustained injuries. It is stated that the lightning fell on a peltric set.Seven houses have been damaged by the thunderbolt. Similarly, five people were injured by lightning at Maidi VDC-3. The lightning also damaged three houses in Madi. Meanwhile, a woman died due to electrocution at Sunaula Bazaar VDC-9. She is 61-year-old Indra Kumari Malla, the District Police Office, Dhading stated. Four children have been injured by lightning at Tarkughat VDC-3 in Lamjung district on Thursday night, RSS reports from Lamjung. The lightning occurred simultaneously at different places at around 5 p.m., leaving the children injured. The children injured in the incident are all students of local Rudra Secondary School. Those injured are Sabina Nepali, Bimala Nepali, Bishal Nepali and Sabin Miya. They are undergoing treatment at the Lamjung Community Hospital, Besisahar. Nnnn TWO WOMEN GRAZERS MURDERED IN PALPA Kathmandu, 4 May:: Two women who had gone to graze their cattle have been murdered at Barangdi VDC-2 in Palpa district. Their bodies were found on Friday morning under a Kafal tree at local Gharekhola, RSS reports from Tansen. The deceased have been identified as Bhunikala Gaha (65) and Kumari Gaha (60) of Chirtudhara VDC-8, according to the police. It is known that the two women used to go together for grazing their cattle for over two decades. Police have recovered umbrellas and slippers of the deceased as well. Meanwhile, Police said that investigation into the case is underway. nnnn
