PARLIAMENT MEETS THURSDAY AFTERNOON
Kathmandu, 17 May: Parliament meets at four in the afternoon Thursday after being called into session by President DR. Ram Baran Yadav on recommendation of the prime minister.
The main agenda is to amend an interim constitution to shorten process for promulgating a constitution for which an amendment proposal to the basic law has
already been registered in parliament.
NC has issued a whip asking all iits lawmakers to be compulsorily for meetings of parliament and the constituent assembly.

MADESH MORCHA MEETS FOR SECOND DAY AMID THREATS
TO WALKOUT OF GOVT.
Kathmandu, 17 May: Madesh Morcha, a front of terai parties in
government with Maoists. continued discussions for the second day reviewing a decision of the Big Three now in government to carve out 11 unnamed provinces.

The Morcha didn’t agree to the federating the unitary state into 11 provinces while pushing One Madesh One Pradech which is a ‘bottom line”, said one
Madesh leader.
The front says opposes 11 provinces while assuring it won’t obstruct work on writing and promulgating a constitution.
Speakers on the opening day of the meet Wednesday threatened to walk
out of government and come out on the street to push terai demands.
