PARTY BACKS BELEAGURED PM BHATTARAI
Kathmandu, 24 May: Maoist standing committee Thursday extended full support to beleaguered Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai whose resignation has been demanded by ruling parties NC and UML and opposition by Mohan Baidhaya faction to the extension of the CA tenure..
The support came one day after the new entrants to the Baburam Bhattarai government pressed for the resignation.
The committee meeting also reviewed the political situation after a cabinet decision to entend the CA tenre by thee months after 27 May.
The meeting decided Maoists are ready to promulgate by 27 May as demanded by parties if conentious issues are resolved, Barsha Man Pun said.

UPDATE KRISHNA PRASAD SHITAULA SUBMITS RESIGNATION FROM GOVT. TO OWN PARTY CHIEF
Kathmandu, 24 May: Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minster Krishna Prasad Sitaula submitted his resignation from government to NC President Suhil Koirala Thursday.
Shitaula leads a two-member party team in the government of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.
NC central committee Wednesday night decided to withdraw from government.

.LUXURY CARS FOR FORMER PMs
Kathmandu, 4 May: Without preparing a legal basis for distribution of luxury cars for former top officials, government has started distributing luxury vehicles to former prime ministers, Kantipur reports.
Lokendra Bahadur Chand has been provided a Land Cruiser.
Such vehicles were earlier provided to former Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamall Dahal, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal.
Former government chiefs Sher Bahadur Deuba and Surya Bahadur Thapa will also get q the facility soon.
