PM REVEALS KC RECEIVED THREATS FROM Kathmandu, 7 May:: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the Government was committed to providing full security to Chairman of Rastriya Janamorcha, Chitra Bahadur KC, and that the person making threatening calls to him was being searched for.. Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai was responding to the queries posed to him regarding the issue at the meeting on Monday of the Legislature-Parliament State Affairs Committee. On the occasion, CPN-UML leader Pradip Gyawali had sought information on behalf of the Committee on what was being done to find the person issuing threatening phone calls to the Committee member Mr KC. The Prime Minister, on the occasion, said the security bodies have already been notified about it and also directed to identify the person behind it after tracing the phone number used to call Mr KC. Chairman KC had been receiving such threatening calls since January 8, and had expressed serious concern over the indifference shown by the Government even though it was reported about it. Following this, Committee Chairperson Ram Nath Dhakal had directed the Government to nab the criminal as soon as possible, and take sternest possible action against him, and thereby secure the life and property of Mr KC, RSS reports. Both the premier and KC said threats came from a caller in Japan. KC said he had also received threats from supporters of a minister. Nnnn STOCK MARKET GAILNS 24.11 POINTS Kathmandu, 7 May: Stock market gained 24.11 points as market closed Monday at 428.43 points. The circuit breaker was applied thrice as prices closed. Stocks valued at more than Rs140 million were traded. A bullish trend prevails as the market has been buoyed by hopes of concluding the peace process and promulgating a constitution. nnnn
