PRRESDENT CALLS PARLIAMENT INTO SESSION Kathmandu, 15 May: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has called the 11th session of parliament/legislature Thursday at four in the afternoon, an official announcement said Tuesday. The president made the move on the recommendation of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai after their meeting. The development comes after a breakthrough agreement on constitution promulgation. Government has already registered an amendment proposal to an interim constitution. Nnnn STRIKE DISRUPTSLIFE IN EAST AS WELL Kathmandu, 15 May: Normal life in Sunsari, Morang, and Saptari has been affected due to a strike called by United Democratic Madhesi Morcha (UDMF) today, Tuesday], RSS reports, . Transport services have been disrupted, educational institutions, industries, factories and local markets remained closed in the districts, our correspondents reported. However, revenue collection in the Rani Customs Office has not been affected though the bandh affected life, said Officiating Chief of the Office Krishna Prasad Neupane. The office has met its daily target despite the bandh, Neupane said. The Rani Customs Office has been collecting some Rs 35 million revenue everyday. nnnn
