UDMD STICKS TO DEMAND FOR PROVINCE BAED ON IDENTITY
Kathmandu, 24 May: A meeting of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) stressed on promulgating the new constitution based on identity by this Constituent Assembly (CA), RSS reports.
The meeting held at Singha Durbar today decided that there was no alternative to promulgating the new constitution within May 27 by forging national consensus on the disputed issues seen in the constitution writing.
After the meeting, General Secretary of the UDMF, Jitendra Dev stressed on resolving the disputed issues through the Dispute Resolution Sub-Committee and the Constitutional Committee in the remaining time of promulgation of the new constitution.
Blaming that the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress are in need of power than timely constitution, Dev said that it will be against the five-point agreement if the Prime minister tenders the resignation.
UDMF is a loose coalition of five Madhes-centric parties.
