UML SAYS THERE’S STILL ALTERNATIVE TO END POLITICAL CRISIS Kathmandu, 25 May: UML said in a statement Thursday a test of leaders has coincided with the verdict of the supreme court. A constitution should be promulgated incorporating points on which Agreement has been reached and remaining issues should be taken up by a transitional parliament. ‘There is an alternative,” the party which is still in government Said although NC and withdrawn 18 days after joining it. Previous quarrels were direct and easy to resolve. Differences were between panchayat and anti-panchatay forces; between advocates of parties and others advocating a partyless form of government. Four years ago, a quarrel was between those for and against monarchy. Differences are now Hindus and non-Hindus, communists and liberals, regions, castes; you name them. nnnn
