UN CONDEMNS JANAKPUR BOMBING Kathmandu, 1 May: The United Nations country team Tuesday condemned Monday’s vicious bombing that killed five persons and injured more than 30 others. A terai rebel group bombed a stage where protestors were being staged for Maoist non-inclusion of a Mithila province in a proposed federal province in the first violent violence relating to demands for a federation in a new constitution. "The United Nations Country Team in Nepal is deeply saddened by this attack and would like to convey its condolences to the families of the victims and to wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured," Robert Piper, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, said in a in a statement. Piper added that the Country Team stands firmly behind effort to complete the constitution making process. nnnn
