UNILEVER NEPAL APPOINTS NEW MD Kathmandu, 7 May: Srikanth Srinivasamadhavan has been appointed new managing director of Unilever Nepal. He replaces Kamran Bakr who has been appointed chairman and managing director of Unilever Bangladesh. nnnn PM ASKS PROTESTORS TO SIT DOWN FOR NEGOTIATIONS Kathmandu, 7 May: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has urged the banda enforcers who have been demanding ‘Undivided’ Far Western region to come in dialogue, Greatwayonline.com reports. The prime minister said so during a meeting of major three political parties held at CPN-UML parliamentary party office on Monday morning. The prime minister said, during the meeting, the leaders held serious talks on the demand of far western region. He stressed to withdraw strike and hold dialogues with the concerned authority. Prior to this, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal had issued a joint statement and urged to sit for talks. For past ten days, Ekata Samaj and Paribesh have been protesting the UCPN (Maoist)’s proposal to divide some parts of Kanchanpur and Kailali and include them in Tharuwan federal state. With the markets and factories closed, production and distribution of daily essentials has come to a virtual halt in different hill districts of the Far-west. As the vehicles are also not allowed to ply on the roads, passengers have been stranded. Earlier, political parties had called on the bandh enforcers to suspend their indefinite bandh but agitators turned deaf ear. Nnnn NEPAL POLICE CLUB PLAYS CAMBODIAN IN PHNOM PENH Kathmandu, 7 May: Nepal Police Club plays Phnom Penh Crowne FC of Cambodia in the Cambodian capital Monday. The Nepali team was trounced 5-1 by Dordoi of Kyrgyzstan in the opening encounter. Nepal Police Club must win Mnday to keep its hope alive in the AFC President’s Cup. nnnn
