Kathmandu, 27 May: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) on behalf of UML said Sunday night he has resigned from government with immediate effect, he said;
Pokhrel was also foreign minister in Baburam Bhattarai government.
The resignation follows the unilateral decision of the prime minister to hold CA elections 22 November.
‘The move without consultation is not constitutional.,” Pokhrel, who is
UML general secretary, said after staging a walkout at the cabinet where Bhattarai mad the election proposal also opposed by a RPP member of the cabinet.
There was no prior agreement to election date, Pokhrel said.
Meanwhile, the premier addresses the nation at 11.45 PM or15 minutes
before the deadline to promulgate a constitution.
