UPDATE PRESIDENT SAYS BABURAM GOVERNMENT IS A CARETAKER
Kathmandu, 29 May: Following a meeting Tuesday with Prime Minister
Baburam Bhattarai, President DR. Ram Baran Yadav in the evening calld the BHattarai a caretaker asking it to try to run the country through consensus.
The president said the premier is no longer a member of legislative\
parliament with the end of its tenure 27 May.
The premier went to Dhilikhel Tuesday with his family with
mounting pressure on him to resign.

SHARE PRICES TUMBLE WITH ANNOUNEMENT OF CA ELECTIONS
Kathmandu, 29 May: Political uncertainty created by announcement of
fresh constituent assembly (CA) elections by government 22 November
brought down share prices Tuesday after Monday’s public holiday when the market was closed for Republic Day.
Prices tumbled 20.98 points or 5.08 percent and closed at 391.89 points.
Altogether 43,311 shares were traded for Rs.8.98 million through 647
transactions.

CHINESE , INDIAN AMBASSADORS DISCUSS POLITICAL
DEVELOPMENTS WITH PM BHATTARAI
Kathmandu, 29 May: Chinese Ambassador Yang Houlan and Indian
Ambassador Indian Jayant Prasad held separate discussions with Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Tuesday on the situation after announcement of CA
elections by government on 22 November.
The premier briefed the envoys of the two large Asian neighbours and told them he was for a consensus approach to resolve the situation.
